Frequently asked questions & answers
No, WebTPA is not an insurance company. WebTPA is a third-party administrator that processes claims and provides member support on behalf of your employer’s benefit plan.
Your employer has partnered with WebTPA, a third-party administrator, to administer custom health care benefits that meet your unique needs. We have a dedicated team to assist you with questions about your benefits, providers, and claims.
In a self-funded health plan, your employer collects premiums and covers the costs of employees’ and dependents’ claims. Instead of using a traditional insurance company, the employer manages the coverage and benefits. They can hire a third-party administrator (that’s us, WebTPA) for services like enrollment, claims processing, and managing provider networks.
Many employers, including our clients, choose a self-funded health plan to customize the plan to meet the needs of their employees. Employers pay directly for health care claims instead of paying a premium each month to an insurance carrier, which can result in tangible savings.
A healthcare provider, also known as a doctor, is a licensed person or organization that provides health care services.
Login to your member portal at the top of this page to search for a provider near you.
Show your health plan ID card to your provider’s office and tell them to send claims to WebTPA for processing.
Important Notice: Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC) notices have been issued to many of our members. Click here for a glossary of terms associated with SBCs. For information regarding a specific plan, please contact your HR / Benefits Department. For general information regarding SBC documents, visit www.healthcare.gov.
